YNU accepts master students under the following scholarship programs sponsored and organized by World Bank.

Public Policy and Taxation Program (PPT)

This program was established in the Faculty of Economics in 1996 with the cooperation and support of both the World Bank and Japan’s National Tax Agency under the Ministry of Finance. The program is a full two-year master’s program in Economics grounded in both theory and applied econometrics together with a 10 month practicum at the National Tax Agency in Tokyo. Following a three-year pause, the program has restarted and continues to accept new cohorts annually in the autumn.

Infrastructure Management (IMP)

This program was established in 1995 with the receipt of a grant from a special scholarship program funded by the Japanese Government for government officers from developing countries of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank). The program examines approaches to infrastructure management at all levels from the planning of infrastructure to its construction and operation while bearing in mind the welfare of the local population and preservation of the environment. A new cohort has begun in October 2016 at the Graduate School of Urban Innovation.
